“Enabling people to deepen their relationship with God in Christ.”

A warm welcome always awaits you at Burley in Wharfedale Methodist Church.  Here we offer a diversity of worship forms accessible to all.

Our Sunday service starts at 10.30am and lasts for approximately an hour.  The first part of the service involves adults and children worshiping together.  Our children and young people then leave for their own activities in Sunday school.  Our Sunday school includes a crèche for pre-school children. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and second Sundays (for timings, see ‘Patterns of Worship’).

A multi-media projector is used in most of our services enabling words of hymns/songs,  Bible readings and images to be displayed at the front of the church to enhance our worship.  Large print editions of ‘Singing the Faith’, in addition to the standard print versions, are available to those who require them.  We also have an induction loop for the hard of hearing.

After worship, children and adults join together for refreshments. This is a great opportunity to meet people and to share fellowship.

The usual pattern of worship is:

First Sunday of the month

9.00am – Holy Communion (traditional).

9.30am – 10.00am – Morning prayer.
